On the record: Kent State field hockey team tops Lock Haven 2-1

Goals by Silvia Figa Malgosa and Alexis Madeira were enough to lead the Kent State field hockey team over visiting Lock Haven on Saturday, 2-1. The Bald Eagles (9-6) scored late to avoid the shutout.

The Golden Flashes (11-6) have won five of their past six games; three of them by scores of 2-1.

• Senior Karley Kusan notched her 2,500th career assist en route to the University Akron’s first Mid-American Conference win of the season on Saturday. The Zips (6-16, 1-9) downed Central Michigan in five sets 26-24, 25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 15-8 at Rhodes Arena.
