On the record: Kent State baseball team loses 7-6 at Ohio

Kent State opened its final Mid-American Conference regular-season series of 2017 in Athens Thursday with an 7-6 loss to the Bobcats in a game that featured five home runs.

Mason Mamarella and Nick Kanavas each had three hits as the Golden Flashes (14-15, 17-5) tallied 12 hits overall. Ohio (26-25, 12-10) had 13 hits off of three Kent State pitchers.

Ohio led 6-0 after four innings before the Flashes got on the board on a three-run home run by Luke Burch in the fifth. In the sixth, Dom Iero (North Canton Hoover) scored on a single by Josh Hollander to make it 6-4.
