Jenna Hellstrom scored twice Sunday to power the Kent State women’s soccer team to a 2-1 win at Dayton.
Hellstrom put the Golden Flashes up 1-0 with a penalty kick in the ninth minute of action, and the Flyers (0-3) tied the game with a penalty shot in the 65th minute.
Two minutes later, Hellstrom recorded her 26th career goal and 12th game-winner. She took a feed from Maddie LaVigna into the box and chipped the ball over the charging Dayton keeper. It was the third multiple-goal game in Hellstrom’s career.
Flashes goalie Ashleah McDonald stopped 7-of-8 shots.
