Ian Holt (Stow) won his first tournament title, and the No. 18 Kent State men’s golf team won the Cleveland State Invitational at Barrington Golf Club in Aurora with a record-setting performance.

The Golden Flashes finished with a team score of 46-under 818 to set the program record for a 54-hole tournament. The Flashes smashed the previous record set in 2012 by 7 strokes.

Individually, Holt and Chase Johnson (Walsh Jesuit) became the first golfers in program history to shoot under 200 in a tournament. Holt finished with an 18-under 198 and Johnson carded a 17-under 199 to best the record set in 1999 by current coaches Ben Curtis (200) and Jon Mills (202).
