Kent State junior pitcher Eric Lauer was named Mid-American Conference East pitcher of the week. Lauer pitched his second career complete game in a 3-0 win over Toledo on Friday. He struck out 10 and did not walk a batter. He has a 0.99 ERA in eight starts this season.
The award is Lauer’s third conference honor of the season.
Walsh baseball
Walsh sophomore first basemen Andrew Stalnaker was named co-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the week after dominating Findlay last Tuesday.
Stalnaker went 4-for-5 with three home runs. He drove in five of Walsh’s 12 runs.
