Northeastern 73, Kent State 70: Golden Flashes blow 17-point halftime lead in loss

BOSTON: Devon Begley’s 3-pointer gave Northeastern the lead with two minutes left and his two free throws with 25 seconds left iced the Huskies’ 73-70 come-from-behind win over Kent State in their opener at Matthews Arena Sunday.

Kent State led 42-25 at halftime, but the Huskies rallied and cut the deficit to three points with 12 minutes left in the game. Northeastern never took the lead until Begley’s 3-pointer.

Begley made 3-of-5 from beyond the arc off the bench for Northeastern (4-2) and led the scoring effort with 18 points. T.J. Williams finished with 17 points and dished out five assists.
