MUNCIE, Indiana – The No. 22 Kent State field hockey team (12-5, 6-1 MAC) defeated Ball State 2-1 in their regular season finale to capture a share of the 2021 Mid-American Conference championship title with Miami.
After a slow first half and heading into halftime down a goal, Kent State found another level and completely dominated in the second half. Fifth year Clara Rodriguez Seto would strike for the Flashes in the third quarter to tie the game 1-1 and would score the game winner as well later in the fourth.
Kent State held the Cardinals to just one total shot and one penalty corner all second half while registering 24 shots, 22 shots on goal, and eight corners of their own.
