Kent State junior Nick Holley was named Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, following his collegiate debut at quarterback against Akron this past Saturday.
Playing quarterback for the first time since his senior year of high school in 2012, Holley completed 19 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown, making him the first Kent State player with 400 yards of total offense (402) in a game since 2004 (Josh Cribbs).
Used in various roles since his freshman year of 2013, Holley had seen significant time at both running back and wide receiver.
