LOUISVILLE, Ky. – On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) named 17 Kent State softball players as All-America Scholar Athletes for their academic excellence during the 2016-17 academic year.
To qualify for NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete recognition, a student-athlete must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the previous academic year.
Kent State's 17 honorees were tied for the second-most in Division I along with Harvard and Grand Canyon.
The Golden Flashes begin their 2018 season at Coastal Carolina's Battle at the Beach on Feb. 16.
