Miller Advance to Quarters; All Five Flashes Alive After Day One of NCAAs

New York – Kent State put together a strong opening session at the 2016 NCAA Championships, going 4-1 Thursday inside Madison Square Garden. Sitting in 15th place, four Golden Flashes will wrestle in the round of 16 Thursday night, while one will compete in wrestlebacks.

Senior Mack McGuire provided some early drama in the Flashes' first match of the day with a 3-2 victory over Michigan's Rossi Bruno in overtime. A returning All-American, Bruno took a 2-0 lead in the second with a reversal. McGuire had escapes in the second and third to force overtime.
