Ypsilanti, Mich. – Kent State's men's track and field out together a strong all-around performance at Saturday's EMU Triangular, scoring 117.5 points to defeat Eastern Michigan (103) and Central Michigan (74.5).
The Golden Flashes won a total of nine events to earn the win at the triangular meet. Five of their victories were in track events and four were in field events.
In the men's pole vault, freshman Christian Champen cleared a personal-record height of 5.25m (17' 2.75"), which ties Jamie Clymer (1998) for second all-time. Champen is 0.25" away from Jesse Oxley's (2014) school record of 17' 3.
