Men’s Golf Tied for Fifth After First Day of Louisiana Classics

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Kent State University men's golf team is currently tied for fifth place with a 1-under-par 575 after the first 36 holes of the 31st annual Louisiana Classics held at Oakbourne Country Club.

No. 1 Illinois is in the top spot at 18-under 558, while No. 33 Texas A&M is in second at 17-under 559 and No. 45 Kansas is third with 13-under 563.

"We started the day off well but we just had one little lull where we went from 3-under to 8-over," said Director of Golf/Head Men's Golf Coach Herb Page, whose Golden Flashes backed up an opening-round 293 with a 6-under-par 282 in round two.
