KENT, OHIO- Golden Flashes' shortstop Michael McNamara has been named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, for his efforts in the weekend series against Western Michigan.
McNamara played in three of the four games over the weekend, all Kent State victories. The Cleveland native raked in all three contests, totaling a 10-for-14 effort at the plate.
On Friday, the shortstop cracked a pair of homers and drove in six to lead Kent State to a series opening victory. He followed that performance up with a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate in the first game of the Saturday double header.
