KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Jacob Mally and Alexander Shields both scored more than 3,000 points Friday at the Tennessee Relays to complete two-day decathlon totals that put them in the top-10 in Kent State track and field history.
Mally finished with 6,953 points to take sole possession of No. 7 spot in the Golden Flashes record book, which he previously shared with Mike Cvelbar (6,911). Competing in just his second decathlon due to an injury at this meet a year ago, Shields claimed the No. 10 spot in school history with 6,780 points.
