KENT, OHIO- Kent State tight end Kris Leach has been named to the John Mackey Award watch list as announced by the "Friends of John Mackey".
The Mackey Award given annually to the nation's top tight end. The award winner is chosen by the Mackey Award Selection Committee consisting of past winners, sportswriters and former players.
Leach has played two seasons with the Golden Flashes since transferring from Western Kentucky. As a Golden Flash, the Bealton, Virginia native has been a red-zone threat, hauling in three touchdown passes. He has also been an extraordinary blocker at the end of the offensive line.
