Lauer Goes South of the Border for First Win
Former Flash tosses six shutout innings for Padres
MONTERREY, MEXICO – Kent State's former ace Eric Lauer worked six superb shutout innings and Eric Hosmer broke a scoreless tie with a two-run homer as the San Diego Padres beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Estadio de Beisbol.
Making his third big-league start, the lefty struck out five in his six-inning performance, scattering seven hits and walking only one. The 22-year old from Lorain County came up big for his big-league club – whose bullpen was forced to throw nearly 11 innings in the first two games of the series.
