The American Baseball Coaches Association released the 2016 ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams with Kent State's Eric Lauer landing a spot on the First Team.
After already being named a First Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball, Baseball America, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and D1Baseball, Lauer is now considered a consensus All-American, joining John VanBenschoten as the only Golden Flashes to achieve such recognition. VanBenschoten was a consensus First Team All-American in 2001.
Lauer was selected 25th overall in the 2016 MLB Draft after posting the lowest ERA by a starting pitcher since 1979, a miniscule 0.
