Recent Kent State senior Taylor Kim is ready for the biggest event of her young professional career as she tees off on Thursday in the 2016 U.S. Women's Open at CordeValle in San Martin, California.

Kim is slated for a 2:42 PDT tee time and is paired with two amateurs in the opening round. The former Golden Flash qualified after shooting 2-under at a sectional qualifier in early June, winning the event.

The U.S. Women's Open first was held in 1946 and has been conducted by the USGA since 1953. It is the oldest championship available to women professionals and amateurs.
