KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kent State University women's soccer team earned recognition for its exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year as a College Team Academic Award winner, the United Soccer Coaches (USC) announced on Thursday.
This honor is awarded to programs with team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the previous academic year. The Golden Flashes posted the third highest term GPA in program history (3.664) in the spring. A pair of student-athletes earn awards from the USC following the end of the 2021 season. Cameron Shedenhelm was named to the Scholar All-America Second Team and Scholar All-Region First Team, while Karly Hellstrom earned a spot on the Scholar All-Region Second Team.
