Kent State Sweeps NJIT to End Weekend

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Kent State got back in the win column with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-10) victory over NJIT in its final match at the La Salle Invitational on Saturday. The Golden Flashes fell to host La Salle, 3-0 (21-25, 14-25, 28-30), in a morning contest at Tom Gola Arena.

Kent State (6-5) posted a season-best .324 hitting percentage against the Highlanders. The Flashes averaged 15.0 kills per set and had a .272 hitting percentage over the two matches.

Freshman Kathryn Ellison was named to the all-tournament team. The outside hitter showed her versatility as a six-rotation player, adding two more double-doubles while leading the way with 24 kills and 35 digs.
