Kent State was without its leading scorer for most of the game, but standout performances by guards Xavier Pollard and Kellon Thomas helped the visiting Golden Flashes stave off a comeback attempt and take down Ball State 76-68.
As has been the case with Kent State this season, it didn’t end up being easy, but the Flashes escaped to improve to 13-5 overall and 4-1 in the Mid-American Conference.
“Of course, like we always seem to do, we let them back into the game,” KSU coach Rob Senderoff told ESPN after the game. “Give them a lot of credit.
