KENT: Kent State’s season of inconsistency was extended on Tuesday in a game that was a study in frustration.
A put-back off an offensive rebound by Demajeo Wiggins with 1.3 seconds remaining gave visiting Bowling Green an 84-83 victory in overtime, snapping the Golden Flashes’ modest winning streak at two games and dropping their Mid-American Conference record to 5-6.
“It was a disappointing loss and a tough one to swallow,” KSU coach Rob Senderoff said.
The game was a microcosm of the Flashes’ season in which short winning streaks have been followed by short losing streaks, all adding up to an overall record of 13-11.
