KENT: At one point this season, Kent State struggled to win close games.
Golden Flashes coach Rob Senderoff noticed it first after a string of home overtime losses followed by a blowout loss at Toledo, who the Flashes had trounced earlier in the season.
Since then, though, the Flashes (18-12, 10-7) have won five consecutive games, most of them against the cream of the Mid-American Conference crop. That despite the fact they’ve trailed at halftime in each game.
If he had a choice, Senderoff would want his team do it differently, but a win’s a win.
