KENT: This time last year, Kent State freshman guard Mitch Peterson was a do-it-all scorer for perennial winner Walsh Jesuit.
Peterson’s role with the Warriors was well-defined do a little bit over everything. He’d touch the ball on most every possession, whether he took the ball up the court as a guard or posted down low like a center. He was as much of a sharpshooter as he was a physical scorer inside.
As a junior, Peterson averaged more than 19 points to lead the Warriors to a 20-2 record. By the time he left Walsh Jesuit, he was the school’s all-time leading scorer.
