KENT: Hot-shooting Toledo was the probably the last team wounded Kent State needed to see Saturday night at the M.A.C. Center.
Led by two of the Mid-American Conference’s top three scorers in center Nathan Boothe and guard Jonathan Williams, the Rockets shot 75 percent from the floor in the second half and rolled to a 82-67 win in front of 4,503.
“We have to figure out a way to defend better,” Kent State coach Rob Senderoff said. “What we’ve done here defensively the last few games is just not good enough.”
The Golden Flashes (15-8, 6-4) dropped their third straight game while trying to reconfigure their rotation since injuries sidelined guards Xavier Pollard and Jaylin Walker.
