KENT: Kent State had been on a roll.
For much of their game against Central Michigan on Saturday, the Golden Flashes (11-10, 3-5 Mid-American Conference) looked like the team coach Rob Senderoff hoped it would be all along. The Flashes finished with more rebounds than the Chippewas on both ends of the floor and forced more turnovers (14) than they committed (12).
However, Kent State lost 105-98 in overtime to the Chippewas, who have the MAC’s best offense led by junior guard Marcus Keene, the nation’s top scorer.
Two days removed from the loss, Senderoff realized his team has lost seven of its nine games this season decided by five points or less.
