KENT: Those outside the M.A.C. Center gym during the Kent State’s practice Thursday might call the Golden Flashes’ game against Akron on Friday an “easy win” for the Zips.
Those within that gym, especially KSU coach Rob Senderoff, deem the contest an “opportunity.” In six-minute interview after practice, Senderoff used that word five times.
The Flashes’ season has been tumultuous since they started the conference schedule — first a four-game losing streak, then a surge of four wins in five games, then a two-game skid, capped by a loss to a team they beat by 20 just weeks ago.
