KENT: A would-be smooth victory became a struggle in the end. It was a late charge survived.
In a game that was made harder than it needed to be, Kent State pulled out a 76-68 win against Miami at the M.A.C. Center to improve to 2-1 in Mid-American Conference play.
After the teams went back-and-forth for the most of the night, the Golden Flashes (11-5, 2-1) opened up a commanding 62-47 lead with six minutes to play and looked to be cruising to a victory against the MAC’s lowest scoring offensive team.
“It would have been nicer had we been able to put it away when it got to 15 late,” KSU coach Rob Senderoff said.
