Kent State men’s basketball: Golden Flashes facing key game at Buffalo

KENT: The Kent State men’s basketball team is four days removed from what coach Rob Senderoff said is likely its biggest win of the season — an 85-76 defeat of rival and Mid-American Conference East Division leader Akron.

The win served as motivation for a team slogging through the final stretch of the season without two key players — freshman guard Jaylin Walker and senior guard Xavier Pollard, who continue to rest foot injuries.

That victory was in stark contrast to the Golden Flashes’ 76-67 loss to Buffalo on Jan. 8, and it is how KSU (18-9, 9-5) must play if it wants to reverse that outcome when it travels to Buffalo Tuesday for a rematch with the Bulls (15-12, 8-6).
