KENT: Kent State kept alive its hopes of a top-four seed in the Mid-American Conference tournament on Senior Night, easily dispatching Bowling Green 70-54 Tuesday at the M.A.C. Center.
The top four seeds in the MAC receive a coveted first-round bye in the tournament, and Tuesday’s win puts the Golden Flashes (19-11, 10-7) into a four-way tie for the No. 2-5 seeds after No. 1-seeded Akron.
Kent State, Ohio, Central Michigan and Ball State all have 10 wins with one game to play, meaning which teams get the bye and which team will have to play at home on Monday could go to a tiebreaker format depending on the outcomes of this weekend’s games.
