KENT: In a sense, Kent State has a chance for redemption Saturday when it hosts Monmouth.
The game comes a week after the Golden Flashes (0-2) lost 39-36 in heartbreaking fashion to North Carolina A&T State, another FCS team. The Aggies earned the program’s first victory over an FBS team on a 15-yard touchdown pass by their third-string quarterback in the fourth overtime.
It was the longest game in Kent State history.
And now the Hawks, who have never beaten an FBS team, are looking to replicate the Aggies’ success. Kickoff is 3:30 p.m.
“They have confidence, they’re 2-0, and they’ve got it rolling.
