Kent State football: Flashes hope to finish strong with a win over surging Huskies

KENT: The Kent State football team will end its season one way or another Friday afternoon at Dix Stadium, but the Golden Flashes can still finish their season with a win over a team on the rise.

Coming off their lopsided 42-7 loss to Bowling Green, the Flashes (3-8, 2-5 Mid-American Conference) face an upstart Northern Illinois team that’s won three of its past four games. The Huskies — paced by the conference’s third-best scoring offense— are overcoming their 1-7 start.

Prior to their game against the Huskies (4-7, 4-3 MAC), the Flashes will honor their 16 outgoing seniors.
