KENT: Kent State relished its 27-24 win over Central Michigan Saturday, and the Golden Flashes deserved the moment after erasing a double-digit deficit in the second half.
The Chippewas (5-4, 2-3 Mid-American Conference) built a 24-10 lead midway through the third quarter, but the Flashes (3-6, 2-3) stormed back with 17 unanswered points.
Freshman running back Justin Rankin ran one yard for a touchdown before junior quarterback Nick Holley tied the game with a 68-yard run with 12:54 left. Sophomore kicker Shane Hynes then capped a 68-yard drive and the comeback with a 35-yard field goal as time expired.
