BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Kent State soccer team (2-3-0) lost their third straight game on Sunday when they were shut out 5-0 by the East Division leading Bowling Green Falcons (4-1-0).
Bowling Green opened the scoring in the 31st minute. The Golden Flashes held them scoreless for the remainder of the first half, but the Falcons stepped it up in the second half, scoring four to put the Falcons up 5-0 and they never looked back.
Kent State was held to just one shot on target and three shots in total. Defensively, goalkeeper Sarah Melén made nine saves on 14 shots on goal, with one of the goals conceded coming by way of a 83rd minute penalty kick.
