Kent State Drops MAC Opener 81-61 at Central Michigan

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. – In the Mid-American Conference opener, Kent State (3-8, 0-1) was unable to keep Central Michigan (7-5, 1-0) close, dropping the first conference game by a score of 81-61.

The Golden Flashes took a little longer than the Chippewas to warm up, as they netted their first field goal three minutes in after missing their first four, while the Chippewas made three of their first five attempts, including one from the perimeter.

Down four at the game's first media break, Larissa Lurken hit a three to bring the lead closer.
