Kent State Completes Day Two at Akron Invitation

AKRON, Ohio- The Kent State indoor track and field team returned for day two of the Akron Invitational and picked up a handful of top five finishes.

Headlining day two for the Golden Flashes was the conclusion of the men's heptathlon. Jacob Mally entered the day in second place. Mally went second in both the pole vault and the 60-meter hurdles before winning the 1,000-meter run to take silver in the heptathlon with a total of 5,274 points. Teammate Alexander Shields, who entered the day in first, started strong, picking up 920 points in the 60m hurdles.
