KENT: Kent State’s urgency for defensive answers is rising.
The Golden Flashes have long been cognizant of a need to improve on the defensive end of the floor. Nearly every time coach Rob Senderoff has addressed the media, he’s also addressed a defense that isn’t up to the standard needed for KSU to repeat as Mid-American Conference regular season champs and challenge the University of Akron as the leaders of the MAC East.
Entering Tuesday’s game against Miami (6-9, 0-2) at the M.A.C. Center, the Flashes (10-5, 1-1) rank seventh in the MAC in scoring defense at 71.
