Kent State basketball: Flashes hope winning formula against Toledo carries over in rematch against Northern Illinois

KENT: Kent State coach Rob Senderoff wants his team to approach each game one at a time, but for at least Saturday night, it looked as if his Golden Flashes had returned to their formula for success.

The Flashes, during a span of four consecutive losses prior to their 85-61 win over Toledo on Saturday, often explained the importance of limiting turnovers, rebounding and efficient defense after games or practices. Senderoff has caught himself sounding like a broken record, and his players have echoed him following each disappointing loss.

Against the Rockets, the Flashes had just eight turnovers, 35 rebounds and held Toledo to just over 36 percent shooting.
