KENT: The schedule is getting smaller and for Kent State that means the games are getting bigger.
The Golden Flashes shook off a slow start, worked themselves into a lead and held on for a 76-72 victory over visiting Miami on Tuesday in a game the Flashes needed to win.
Only five games remain on the schedule and KSU is in the middle of a four-team fight for the right to earn a home game in the first round of the Mid-American Conference postseason. The top four finishers earn first-round byes and the teams that finish fifth through eighth will host a first-round game before the tournament moves to Quicken Loans Arena.
