Noah Robotham had 12 points, and Isaiah Johnson added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Akron (24-7, 14-4 Mid-American Conference), which entered having already clinched the top seed into the conference tournament.
Jimmy Hall had 16 points and 11 rebounds for Kent State (18-13, 10-8), which had its five game win streak snapped and finished in fourth place in the East Division standings.
