The Kent State softball team (16-23, 7-8 Mid-American Conference) hit three home runs to beat Miami University (23-17, 9-6) 3-2 in the series finale on Saturday.
“We are happy to get the win,” coach Eric Oakley said after the game. “Especially the way the Mid-American Conference is right now because everybody is pretty tight so every win is going to be huge. We needed to get one today for sure after losing both yesterday. A win today keeps our head above water and keeps us in control of our own destiny which is important at this time of year.
