For the second consecutive week, Kent State junior quarterback Nick Holley was named Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. In his second career start at quarterback, Holley led the Golden Flashes to a 44-20 victory at Buffalo this past Saturday.
Holley tied Kent State's single game record of four rushing touchdowns, becoming the first player to do so since 2008 (Eugene Jarvis). He ran for 224 yards on 24 carries, becoming the first Kent State player to hit the 200-yard mark in a game since Dri Archer in 2012.
