The Kent State field hockey team's quest toward another Mid-American Conference title took a step in the right direction Friday, as the Flashes (6-9, 3-1 MAC) blew out Central Michigan (0-15, 0-4 MAC), winning 7-0.

The Flashes' offensive attack was led by juniors Helen Harper and Jessica Apelt, who each notched two goals. Harper opened the scoring up with her goal in the ninth minute, with Alpet's goal being followed up 11 minutes later. They both scored in the second half as well.

The Flashes' other three goals came from senior Alison Harmatz, sophomore Laila Richter and senior Ines Delpech.
