ATHENS, Ohio – Sophomore Shelby Grover finished a record-breaking heptathlon performance at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Women's Track and Field Championship on Friday as Kent State moved to the top of the team standings. The Golden Flashes have totaled 48 points during the first two days of the conference meet and hold a four-point lead going into Saturday's final day of competition, which will feature 13 event finals.
Grover posted personal-bests in all three events of the multis competition to finish second with 5,555 points to beat the previous program record of 5,518 set by Diana Dumitrescu in 2010.
