CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior Maddy Grimm has been named Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday (March 30) afternoon.
Grimm homered twice and had a team-high seven RBIs to lead Kent State to a series win at Eastern Michigan on the opening weekend of MAC play. She also scored five runs, drew seven walks and was hit by a pitch. After hitting a two-run shot in the first game of Friday's doubleheader and launching a grand slam in her second trip to the plate of the night cap, the Eagles decided the best way to stop Grimm from doing damage with her bat was not letting take a swing.
