Golden Flashes Down Indiana in Overtime

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State field hockey team (8-4, 3-1 MAC) defeated Indiana 2-1 in an overtime thriller at Murphy-Mellis field.

The Hoosiers would score at the 11:47 minute-mark in the first quarter and held the lead until late into the fourth. It was with just over a minute left that Kent State would capitalize on a penalty corner to tie the game. Junior Maria Cambra Soler scored for the Flashes while senior's Luisa Knapp and Helena Cambra Soler were credited with the assists. Regulation would end in a draw and the game headed to overtime.
