Four Flashes Selected in MLB Draft

KENT, OHIO – Kent State had four players drafted in the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft recently as Joey Murray, Austin Havekost, Pavin Parks and Eli Kraus heard their names called by professional baseball organizations, just days after wrapping up competition at the NCAA Division I Regionals.

Murray – the two-time Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year – was selected in the eighth round by the Toronto Blue Jays. He was the 236th overall pick. In 2018 Murray set both the Kent State and MAC single-season strikeout records with 141.
