MIAMI, Fla. – Two 9th-inning runs were the difference in Sunday's finale at FIU (2-5) as Kent State (6-1) took the 3-2 victory to win the series.
Back-to-back doubles by Tim DalPorto and Josh Hollander in the 3rd gave the Flashes the lead on the first runs of the day. The Panthers tied the game in the 7th on a walk and pair of singles.
It would remain locked at a run apiece until the final frame. In the top of the inning, Pete Schuler and Dom Iero both singled to put runners on the corners.
