CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State freshman Katie Wuerstle was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week following the Flashes hard fought victories over Appalachian State this past weekend, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon. Wuerstle makes it two weeks in a row that a Kent State student-athlete has won the award, joining her teammate senior Clara Rodriguez Seto who won it last week.
Wuerstle played a critical role in Kent State's tightly contested 3-2 victory over Appalachian State this past Friday. Trailing by a goal for much of the game, the Golden Flashes needed a spark on the offensive end.
