KENT, Ohio – The Kent State (19-8, 4-2) bats broke out for 13 runs on 19 hits Sunday to win the series against Western Michigan (8-17, 1-2) in a 13-2 game.
The Golden Flashes scored first in the opening inning when Zarley Zalewski and Dylan Rosa hit back-to-back doubles. In the 2nd they plated another as Pete Schuler led off with a walk then eventually made it home when a fellow base runner was caught in a rundown.
The big blow of the game came in an eight-run 4th inning.
